Our Difference
Consulting Experience: In consulting, there is no substitute for consulting experience. The two Founders were executives and practice leaders at prior consultancies and combined bring decades of global consulting experience, serving a wide variety of clients ranging from start-ups to large multinational companies, investors and sovereign wealth funds, foreign trade and investment groups (or associations) seeking access to the U.S. healthcare market, and healthcare providers.
Global Commitment: We work with in-country experts with extensive experience to ensure that a thorough understanding of subtle, but important local market dynamics are considered when analyzing a business opportunity to deliver top-tier quality to our clients.
Payer Focus: Everything we do integrates the payer and financial risk holder perspective, as they are crucial to understanding commercial success. Our global team has access to payers and financial risk holders, as well as key opinion leaders and other clinical experts (or stakeholders) to inform our analysis.
Our History
The two co-founders of BeaconOne Healthcare Partners have worked together for the last 20 years, at three different life sciences strategy consulting firms. Most of this time was at Boston Healthcare Associates (BHA), a family-owned, boutique firm, where both Rob and Tom became long-term, trusted members of the executive team until the Company’s acquisition in 2021. During their tenure, BHA expanded its services, headcount, and geographic footprint. Though smaller in size than many of its competitors, BHA established a global reputation for high quality and excellence, particularly in MedTech.
The Founder and CEO of BHA empowered the team to innovate and think creatively when encountering growth opportunities. He would instruct his team to “go long and get open”, an old football saying essentially meaning that while playbook development may be ongoing, we can make optimal progress by putting our best talent in a position to succeed . This philosophy conveyed and sparked collaboration and trickled down throughout the organization, leading to an entrepreneurial and close-knit team culture, as all employee contributions were valued and recognized. This mindset also extended to client relationships, where novel approaches and extra steps were encouraged in client partnerships.
The success of BHA led to its eventual acquisition; however this way of conducting business remains a part of Tom and Rob’s DNA and carries over to their everyday approach to business today. BeaconOne Healthcare Partners was established to create a winning team environment and commitment to excellence built around these core drivers of client and employee satisfaction.
BeaconOne Healthcare PartnersTM Services
We believe integrating market landscape, value, evidence, reimbursement and market access, and health economics perspectives is essential to providing a comprehensive understanding of business risk and opportunity. It requires specialized expertise.
We take a strategic, multidisciplinary approach to these independent but related workstreams to understand real business and investment impact, whether it is shaping the value of a potential large acquisition/investment, pursuing a new market/application, tiering global geographies for market attractiveness, designing a robust clinical development program that will address the needs of both regulators (for approval) and payers (for coverage and reimbursement), or providing a market access roadmap to optimize adoption and penetration.
We bring established research approaches and frameworks we’ve developed through our experience with hundreds of prior assignments.
