BeaconOne Healthcare Partners is a global life sciences strategy consulting firm based in Boston. We provide commercial strategy and market access consulting services to medical device, diagnostic, and biopharma companies, ranging from start-ups to leading multinational organizations.

The Company was recently formed and launched by two consulting executives with decades of experience between them in the life sciences industry.

We present an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Associate to join our rapidly growing company. This role requires versatility and provides an outstanding learning opportunity to gain exposure to the full breadth of US & OUS – focused market landscape, market access, and health economic assignments offered at BeaconOne Healthcare Partners. This role has a heavy global component and will require frequent interaction with colleagues and partners in Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific.

The role is ideal for a MedTech enthusiast and self-starter comfortable working in a less structured environment initially and wearing many hats as the company grows and eventually moves from a fully remote environment to a hybrid office-remote environment.

The position requires some prior MedTech market access or health economics consulting experience – each team member is expected to pull his or her own weight and to hit the ground running. You will work under the direction of client and project managers and will be given frequent opportunities to work independently and participate in project delivery and business development.
This full-time position is based in the Boston area and requires little travel.

Job description

  • Work independently and as part of a project team, under the direction of a project leader and, as applicable, with responsibility for supervising junior team members. Begin to lead small engagements.
  • Support design and development of research instruments, tools, and project plans.
  • Conduct secondary research on MedTech reimbursement and market access, market landscape, and health economics dynamics. This can include but not be limited to reviewing payer / HTA positions, clinical guidelines and treatment pathways, published literature, clinical evidence base, market size and trends, claims analyses, analogs/competitors, coding, and payment, etc.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative primary research with payers, physicians, and other industry stakeholders.
  • Communicate and partner with colleagues and external collaborators based in Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific to meet client project objectives.
  • Translate and communicate data and research findings to support development of strategies that are communicated through delivery of client reports and presentations.
  • Contribute to internal learning, training and development, and recruiting activities.
  • Support development of high-quality client deliverables in collaboration with broader engagement team.
  • Assist with performing background research to support development and writing of proposals and other business development activities.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS, MS, PhD in life sciences, economics, public health, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years’ consulting experience, with a strong preference for prior MedTech market access and/or health economics consulting experience.
  • Ability to aggregate, synthesize and validate research findings obtained from multiple sources.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MedTech market access consulting fundamentals, tools, data sources and reference materials.
  • Familiarity with key US coding and payment systems (CPT and HCPCS).
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with internal team and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail with strong written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent PowerPoint, Word, and Excel abilities.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative but less structured team environment.
  • Comfortable wearing many hats as one of the early members of a growing consulting firm.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the US.
